Terms of Service

By creating a WAYR account or using the WAYR app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. WAYR is published by Better Reading Pty Ltd (“we”, “our”, “us”), an Australian company.

1. Your account

• You must be 13 or older to use WAYR.
• You're responsible for keeping your password and any information you post accurate and lawful.
• One person, one account. You can't share, sell, or transfer your account.

2. Content you post

You keep ownership of the reviews, ratings, lists, and other content you post in WAYR. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display and distribute that content within the app and across the WAYR platform (e.g. to other readers who follow you, to power discovery features, or to summarise on your public profile if you've opted to make it public).

WAYR has a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. This includes, but is not limited to: harassment, hate speech, threats, sexually explicit content, and content that promotes or glorifies violence. We will remove violating content and permanently suspend accounts that post it, without prior warning.

3. Moderation and enforcement

We review all reported content within 24 hours of submission. If you believe content violates these terms, use the Report button available on any review or profile in the app. Reports are handled confidentially — the outcome is not disclosed to either party.

If your account is suspended and you believe this was in error, contact us at hello@whatareyoureading.com.au to appeal.

4. Blocking users

You can block any user from their profile page. Blocked users cannot see your content, follow you, or interact with you in any way within the app. To manage your blocked accounts, go to Settings → Blocked Accounts.

5. Book metadata and recommendations

Book information surfaced in WAYR (covers, descriptions, author details) is sourced from third-party providers including Open Library, Google Books, and TitlePage. We don't guarantee the accuracy of that information. Recommendations and lists are editorial — they don't constitute professional advice.

6. Acceptable use

• Don't scrape, crawl, or attempt to bypass our rate limits.
• Don't reverse-engineer the app for commercial purposes.
• Don't use WAYR to harass other readers.
• Don't impersonate Better Reading or any author or reader.

7. Termination

You can delete your account any time via Settings → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

WAYR is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, we exclude all implied warranties and limit our liability for the app to the amount (if any) you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms excludes consumer guarantees that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State.
